15 Bold Fantasy Football Predictions for the 2018 Season
Doug Baldwin Will Finish With at Least 110 Receptions
Why This Is Bold: Doug Baldwin's career high reception total is 94, and he's been nursing a knee injury.
Why This Will Happen: The Seahawks have made it obvious that they want to run the ball more this year and be a more balanced squad. They drafted Rashaad Penny, hired run-friendly offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, and head coach Pete Carroll has talked about the issue directly this offseason.
Running the ball at a higher rate may be easier said than done. Seattle lost Michael Bennett, Sheldon Richardson, Richard Sherman, and Kam Chancellor while not adding equivalent pieces this offseason. That means the Seahawks may be in more negative game scripts than they'd like. And, actually, they're not favored in many games this year, so there's some substance to that thought.
With Jimmy Graham and Paul Richardson out of the picture, so is about 31% of Seattle's targets from last year. Baldwin's the only reliable pass-catcher in that offense, and if the offense won't be able to run the ball as much as they want, then, well, Baldwin could be in store for a humongous workload.
