Kenny Golladay Will Outscore Marvin Jones

Why This Is Bold: Marvin Jones is coming off a big year in the Detroit offense, and he has an average draft position that's seven rounds higher than Kenny Golladay's.

Why This Will Happen: You want bold? Here's bold. Here's the boldest of bolds.

Golladay's behind Jones on Detroit's depth chart, but the Lions also employed three-wide sets at one of the highest rates in the league last year. And when rookie Kenny Golladay (the cool kids call him "Babytron") was healthy a season ago, it seemed to impact Jones. In the five games without Babytron, Marvin Jones averaged 9.80 targets, 5.40 receptions, 85.40 yards, and 17.54 PPR fantasy points per game. When Golladay was active for 11 games, Jones saw 5.27 targets, 3.09 receptions, 61.27 yards, and 12.46 points per game.

Marvin Jones is good, please don't get it twisted. But Kenny Golladay is a strong prospect who flashed last year, and he should see the field a good bit even as the third option in the Lions' passing attack. If those splits are a thing, isn't it possible that a year of development could force the ball in his direction just as much as Jones'?

The answer is "probably not," but "probably not" doesn't make for a good bold predictions article.
