Trey Burton, TE, Chicago Bears

Week 1 2017 Salary: $4,500
Week 1 2018 Salary: $5,700

Trey Burton's stats in four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles don't look like much on the surface. The former Florida standout in college compiled just 63 receptions for 623 yards and 6 scores in the City of Brotherly Love. Why, then, did fantasy owners pine for him in drafts this offseason?

In short, they saw what did did when Zach Ertz was off the field. All of Burton's touchdowns came in the past two seasons, and four of those touchdowns came when Ertz didn't play. While he may not have flashed the upside that Ertz has shown, Burton clearly showed his potential when given the opportunity. The Chicago Bears saw that and brought him in as their starting tight end for the 2018 season.

His jump from $4,500 to start last season to $5,700 in Week 1 of this season might have been more pronounced had Burton faced an easier opponent. The Green Bay Packers' defense, however, finished as the fifth-best defense against opposing tight ends in 2017, giving up just 7.79 FanDuel points per game to the position.

Just five teams' tight end corps combined for double-digit fantasy points against the Pack last season, though four of those five games came in the second half of the season.

We have Burton projected for 8.6 FanDuel points this week. If he were sporting last year's $4,500 salary, that might be an OK player to target. With his jump in cost, however, that type of output would do little but hurt your team. When his price drops in a more advantageous matchup, dial him up.

David Njoku, Cleveland Browns: $4,500 | $5,400
