7 Deep Fantasy Football Sleepers for Week 2
Cole Beasley, WR, Dallas Cowboys
Yahoo! Ownership: 12%
After much back and forth on who would be the top target for the Dallas Cowboys in 2018 -- following the departure of Jason Witten and Dez Bryant -- Week 1 made it clear who Dak Prescott favors. It’s Cole Beasley.
The seventh-year pro out of SMU was on the field for only 67.9% of the snaps against the Carolina Panthers, but that was still good enough to lead the Cowboys’ receiving corp. Even as the 'Boys rotated in and out 5 different wideouts -- each seeing at least 19 snaps -- Beasley was the man. He finished as the number one receiver as he led Dallas in targets (8), catches (7), and receiving yards (73). It wasn't even that close as Beasley gained more yards than the other four wide receivers combined (61).
Even with Sunday Night’s showdown with the New York Giants not expected to be a barnburner, it’s hard to ignore the volume Beasley can get in the Dallas offense. His 28% target share in Dallas ranked him 16th out of the 146 wideouts who saw at least one target in Week 1.
For a receiver who is in position for as many targets as Beasley is, it’s a crime he is available in over 85% of leagues.
