Phillip Lindsay's Amassed 213 Yards from Scrimmage

If there is one team that truly appreciates the value of late-round or undrafted players, it is the Denver Broncos. The franchise record-holder for receiving yards (11,389) is Rod Smith, who went undrafted back in 1994. All-time great running back Terrell Davis, with 7,607 rushing yards, was drafted in the sixth round. Tight end Shannon Sharpe is third in team history with 55 receiving touchdowns, and he had to wait until the seventh round to hear his name called.

Rookie running back Phillip Lindsay is making a strong push to be the next great late-round gem for the Broncos. After two games of the 2018 season, Lindsay has 213 yards from scrimmage. Since 2000, that is the 13th-highest total in a rookie's first two games. But even more impressive is that it is the highest total ever(!) by an undrafted player.

Lindsay, at 5'8" and 190 lbs, doesn't exactly profile as a genuine NFL workhorse. However, he has a 48% share of the Broncos' rushing attempts through Week 2 and currently sits at RB12 in PPR formats. It's early yet, but it could be noteworthy that Lindsay asked for permission to wear the Broncos' number 30 jersey. Its most prominent owner was none other than Terrell Davis.
