Unlike the Mixon situation, we probably won't have full clarity on Dalvin Cook's hamstring injury, which forced him out of Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers, before we need to put in waiver claims. Cook has said that he is fine, but hamstring issues have a tendency to linger, and there's enough uncertainty here to make it worth grabbing Latavius Murray if you have the bench space.

We saw last season that Murray can be a high-end fantasy back when Cook is out. In his 12 games without Cook in 2017, he turned 16.8 carries and 1.25 targets into 12.57 PPR points per game. He finished as the overall RB25 in fantasy football, and the 16-game pace he was on without Cook would have put him at RB13. And that was with Jerick McKinnon in town, stealing some of the passing-game work.

Murray doesn't look like he'll have much value when Cook is healthy -- he played only 19.7% of the team's offensive snaps in Week 1 -- but this is a situation worth monitoring. If there's any word that Cook will miss a game, Murray becomes a very valuable acquisition this week.
