The Giants are in Trouble

The big question in the offseason for the New York Giants was "Who is the odd man out?". Between a receiver corps boasting Odell Beckham, Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram and drafting running back Saquon Barkley with the second pick of the 2018 NFL draft, something had to give.

We expected someone to feel left out, but it turns out no one's having much fun. The G-men have produced the 4th-lowest total offensive yardage in the league, which hampers the whole unit for fantasy football.

Per NFL.com's Next Gen Stats, Manning threw 17 of his 44 pass attempts at or behind the line of scrimmage on Sunday night.. Just 12 of those attempts were more than 10 yards downfield, and on those throws Manning managed a paltry 33% completion rate.

This wasn't against a particularly tough defense, either. Our power-rankings have the Cowboys as the 17th-best defense in the league, so they aren't anything special. Eli's performance was cause for serious concerns for the entire offense. They'll have much tougher matchups over the next few weeks, so expect more performances like last night's going forward.
