Red-Zone Market Shares

1. Cooper Kupp Is Busy in the Red Zone

With six red-zone targets and four red-zone catches through two games, Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp is quickly becoming the main target near the end zone for Jared Goff.

Only Smith Schuster (eight) and Michael Thomas (seven) have more red-zone looks than Kupp does. And despite playing with Robert Woods and Brandin Cooks, Kupp is seeing 40 percent of the Rams’ looks inside the 10-yard-line, according to Pro Football Reference.

Together, Cooks and Woods are seeing 20 percent of targets inside the 10, or half of what Kupp has seen through two games.

Goff built a strong connection with Kupp last season, which has carried over to 2018, and Kupp's usage in the red zone suggests that connection is here to stay.

2. Marshawn Lynch Is Plodding Along at a Touchdown Per Game

Marshawn Lynch was the 57th overall player taken in standard-league drafts this season, according to Fantasy Pros. Drafted in the fifth round, Lynch was selected as the RB24.

Currently, Lynch has two touchdowns in two games and is tied for ninth in red-zone carries, with four attempts from inside the 10-yard line. Overall, Lynch is seeing 62.5% of the Oakland Raiders’ red-zone rushes through two games.

Throughout the 0-2 start for Oakland, Lynch has proven he will see red-zone work in both tight games (at Denver in Week 2) and blowout losses (Rams in Week 1).

And to date, Lynch’s 29 overall rushing attempts put him plenty clear of backfield mates Doug Martin (11) and Jalen Richard (7). It’s Lynch’s job, and he’s a prototypical goal-line running back through two games.
