5 NFL Stats to Know Through Week 3
The Houston Texans Have Lost 9 Consecutive Games
The Houston Texans' 27-22 loss at home to the New York Giants on Sunday dropped them to an 0-3 record to start the season. The defeat was the Texans' ninth consecutive regular season defeat, dating back to last season, and is the longest current streak in the NFL.
After three consecutive 9-7 seasons to start his reign as Houston's head coach, Bill O'Brien has seen his side's fortunes dip of late. The Texans are 4-15 in their last 19 regular season outings, giving O'Brien a 31-36 record overall.
Despite the loss, there were some reasons to be hopeful moving forward. J.J. Watt recorded his first sacks of the season, finishing with three on the day. This was Watt's sixth game with at least three sacks in his NFL career, and he is tied for the 5th most since the 2000 season. It was, however, the first time Watt had achieved this feat in a game in which his side lost.
