We now have a three-game sample to draw from as we try to figure out the Atlanta Falcons' backfield in a post-Devonta Freeman world.

The Falcons haven't actually spent much time in the red zone in that span, running only 13 plays, while failing to record an offensive red zone snap in one of those three games.

What does stand out is just how backfield-centric the red zone work has been.

Of the 13 available opportunities, 2 were targets to tight end Austin Hooper, while the remaining 11 were divvied up between Tevin Coleman and Ito Smith.

Smith has received the lion's share of the work on the ground, with five carries to Coleman's one. If we look at opportunities, though, it's actually Coleman who has seen more work, with six (five targets and one carry) to Smith's five (all carries).

One thing that's worth noting is that if we narrow our view to Atlanta's three plays inside the 10-yard line in that time, all three have been passes, with two targets going to Coleman (both for touchdowns) and one to Hooper, while Smith has no opportunities inside the 10.
