10 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Targets Heading Into Week 13

Austin Ekeler's ownership level is higher than what we'd usually include in this article, but given that he's still free in 30% of leagues, it's worth mentioning him since he's one of this week's top adds -- maybe the top add -- with Melvin Gordon reportedly dealing with an MCL injury.

Gordon's health will likely be updated numerous times this coming week, but early on, it's looking like Gordon is going to miss some time. That immediately puts Ekeler into must-start status.

In Week 12, Ekeler got 5 carries and 11 targets, catching 10 of them for 68 yards. And that was with the Chargers seeing a super positive game script in a blowout win over the Cardinals. In deeper leagues, Ekeler is likely owned already, but he may be out there in 10-teamers. If he's on the wire in your league, he's a must-add this week as he could be in line for big volume in one of the league's premier offenses.

If Ekeler is rostered, Justin Jackson is worth a speculative add. On Sunday, Jackson (7 carries for 57 yards) worked ahead of and out-produced Detrez Newsome (4 carries for 15 yards) once Gordon left the game. He could be the Bolts' change-of-pace option behind Ekeler while Gordon is out.
