Bruce Ellington, WR, Detroit Lions

Yahoo! Ownership: 8%

Bruce Ellington has been a Detroit Lion for just two games, but he already has the sixth-most catches (12) on the team this season.

With Golden Tate in Philly and Marvin Jones on injured reserve, plenty of playing time has opened up for the former Texan. Ellington has been on the field for 66.4% of offensive plays. His 16 targets reinforce Ellington’s standing as the number-two wideout to Kenny Golladay in Detroit. This Sunday, in a projected shootout with the Los Angeles Rams (54.5 over/under), Ellington has a good shot at finding the end zone for the first time in a Lions uniform.

When the Rams last played, they were involved in the game of the year, a 54-51 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. In that game, Los Angeles’ weak pass defense was fully exposed, allowing 478 yards and 6 touchdowns through the air. On the season, receivers have had their way, scoring the most touchdowns (18), and fifth-most fantasy points per game against the Rams. With Detroit likely chasing points as 10.0-point underdogs, expect Ellington and the passing game to be in full swing, making the wideout a solid play in Week 13.
