Week 14 Fantasy Football Market Share Report: Kenneth Dixon Is Going to Be a Factor
Running Back Market Shares
1. Kenneth Dixon Is a Thing Now
Just when Gus Edwards had come on the scene and wiped Alex Collins from starter status, Kenneth Dixon has emerged to muddy up the waters in the Baltimore Ravens' backfield even more.
Injuries, suspensions and inconsistency have made Dixon a tough guy to pin down value-wise over the years. But in the past couple weeks, Dixon has fully become a part of the Ravens' backfield plans, and his market shares continue to rise.
In Week 14, Dixon handled 9 running-back touches, logging 8 rushes for 59 and a touchdown as well catching his lone target for 21 yards. He saw 23% of the backfield's touches, and it’s the second straight week Dixon had nine touches after getting eight carries and a reception last week.
Now, Edwards still had 16 carries for 67 in Week 15, so he was the lead dog. But Dixon has been out-producing Edwards, and Edwards is basically a zero in the passing game, notching just one catch all year. So Dixon is going to be a factor moving forward, especially if the Ravens get behind.
Dixon has been trending up, and If you need a dart throw flex option in your playoffs, he has the chance to make an impact in Week 15 in a favorable matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
2. Sony Michel Is Still Dominating in New England
Sony Michel handled 20 carries in the New England Patriots' loss to the Miami Dolphins. The growing concerns continue to be the crowded backfield, but Michel is getting the most work. Despite Rex Burkhead, James White and James Develin in the mix, Michel had a 66% market share of the Pats' backfield in Week 15.
On his 20 carries, Michel netted only 57 yards, but he dominated the ground work. That's enough to make him a strong fantasy start even with his lack of pass-gamer involvement. Despite not seeing a receiving target last week and having just three catches over his last four contests, Michel is the number-one option in a high-scoring offense.
If he hadn’t surrendered two touchdowns to Develin in Week 15 (plus one the week prior), it would have been viewed as a solid day for Michel.
With his solid market share and touchdown upside in the Pats' offense, Michel is still a RB2 option.
