7 NFL FanDuel Value Plays for Week 15
Jordan Howard, RB, Chicago Bears
Price: $5,500
Sure, Jordan Howard has disappointed in a big way relative to his pre-season expectations. But if there hadn't been hype to be let down about, getting a back with at least 17 opportunities in three of his last four games for only $5,500 is something few people would hesitate to jump on.
Howard certainly isn't having a good season, and among the 40 backs with at least 100 carries this season, he sits only 32nd in our Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per carry metric. His 3.6 yards per attempt is way down from what he posted last year (4.1) and in 2016 (5.2), and he's also averaging fewer than 10 receiving yards per game.
But volume is still by far the most important factor for a running back, and Howard is doing OK there. He's averaging 15.2 carries and 1.5 targets per game this year, and while he hasn't shown a ton of upside, he has hit double-digit FanDuel points six times.
Our models have the Green Bay Packers as a bottom-six run defense, which should go a long way toward boosting Howard's efficiency, and in this price range, you're simply not going to find a back with a better shot at 15-plus carries.
