Sunday Tight End: Hunter Henry, Los Angeles Chargers

Price: $4,900

Speaking of returns from injury, Hunter Henry is finally getting in full practices, and he looks ready to make his season debut against New England.

There's obviously some serious risk in playing somebody in their first game back from a torn ACL. The Chargers have been conservative in bringing him back, though, holding him out of a must-win game last week, so we should see him at pretty close to full-health here. You're also simply not going to find a value tight end without significant risk anyway, so it's worth zeroing in on Henry's upside.

He's not going to usurp Virgil Green as the team's run-blocking tight end, but he should have little trouble taking over for Antonio Gates, who was only signed out of retirement after Henry went down with the injury. Gates has four or more targets in three of his last four games, so there's some volume to be had.

Per Pro-Football-Reference, Henry joins Gates and this week's counterpart Rob Gronkowski as the only tight ends in NFL history to tally at least 100 targets and 12 touchdowns over their first two seasons in the NFL. It remains to be seen what kind of shape he's in after the absence, but that risk is worth taking on for the cheap upside he can offer.
