A much safer play in this game, though, is a guy like Eddie Royal, who saw 12 targets against the 49ers in Week 16. Royal caught 10 passes for 94 yards and a touchdown in the absence of Keenan Allen.

The Chiefs are a solid pass defense and are above average against the pass in terms of NEP and fantasy points but rank very similar to the 49ers, against whom Royal put up a solid day in comeback work.

San Diego can eke into the postseason, but they have to win for that to happen. Royal should be a key component in the offense.
