If you are sagacious, you could have seen this one coming. Even if you aren't observant, you probably could have guessed it.

Marcus Mariota isn't as big of a reach as some of these other players, as he is going off the board as the 17th quarterback. Our projections expect him to fall short of 20 touchdowns (19.0) and turn it over at least once per game on average (16.4 interceptions).

The algorithms are also tempering expectations on Mariota's rushing upside, expecting just 252.1 yards and 1.5 touchdowns from the rookie.

Mariota's top comparison? David Carr in 2004. We know that story by now, but removing the name and the hype from the numbers evidences plenty of reason to exercise caution before anticipating big things from these young quarterbacks.
