JJ Zachariason started things off taking Le'Veon Bell with the first overall pick. A two-game suspension didn't sway JJ's opinion. Bell was the most productive running back in the league, as he more than doubled the second-best running back (Marshawn Lynch) in our Total Net Expected Points (NEP) metric, which compares a player to expectation level performance.
Jordan Hoover found a great price on Adrian Peterson who has been ranked as the top running back by some, picking him up fifth overall.
Antonio Brown was the first receiver taken off the board with the sixth pick by Sam Hauss. He was only one of three wide receivers taken, as the first round was dominated by running backs. Brown's high floor -- 33 straight games of 5 receptions and 50 yards -- makes him a great wide receiver to target in the first.
Aaron Watson is buying the hype behind Julio Jones, making him the second wide receiver taken. Jones certainly has the potential to fight for the top receiver spot by season's end. Demaryius Thomas rounds out the end of the first round, as he laces up for another season with a Peyton Manning-led offense.
