Baltimore Ravens Rushing Offense

I'm generally not a huge fan of getting super pumped about a running back who is on the road. Game script is much more likely to get out of hand, neutralizing the rush, when the team is playing away, so it's not always a safe pick. With the Baltimore Ravens favored by a point and facing this San Francisco 49ers' defense, it may be worth the risk.

Remember when the 49ers shut down Adrian Peterson? That's a long-lost memory now. San Francisco is 30th in Adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP per play. Over the past four weeks, they have allowed three top-five fantasy running back performances to such formidable foes as DeAngelo Williams, Chris Johnson, and Shane Vereen. The two guys they've stopped are Peterson and Lacy, which is mildly concerning, but there's plenty of upside in this one.

The big issue here is health. Justin Forsett dinged up his ankle while galloping all over the Cleveland Browns and wasn't able to practice Wednesday. That's concerning as he has been stupid good the past two weeks. But even if he can't go, I wouldn't dump out of all ownership in the Ravens' backfield. I'm more than fine with rolling out Javorius Allen.

We're operating on a small sample size with Allen, but that really hasn't been a bad sample. His 26 rushes put him 14th in Rushing NEP per play out of 55 running backs with at least 25 carries this year. His 42.31 Success Rate isn't quite as good, but it's still 22nd in that same group. It's not a lot to go on, but it's enough to at least say he's not flaming doggy doo as a runner.

Ideally, Forsett would be able to get the start. He's more than reasonable at $7,600 on FanDuel and $6,400 on DraftKings. But with the salary change and Buck at $5,100 on FanDuel and $4,300 on DraftKings, he's easily rosterable if Forsett can't go.
