10 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Targets Heading Into Week 10

I would have never guessed before the season began that Blake Bortles would turn into a fantasy-worthy quarterback. Like not even of the streaming variety. But here we are, and, if you're not the streaming type, you could do a lot worse than dumping say, I don't know, Peyton Manning, and adding Bortles as your quarterback for the rest of the season.

A couple of key factors keep Bortles fantasy-relevant. He's definitely improved from his near historically low efficiency last season, despite rocking an underwhelming 0.05 Passing NEP per drop back compared to his 2014 mark of -0.18. But in fantasy terms, Bortles quarterbacks a team that sports the 10th-highest pass-to-run ratio due to all the catch up they have to try and play given that their 25th ranked overall defense can't stop surrendering points.

But Bortles is also encouraged to throw so much because he has some truly gifted weapons in his arsenal. Allen Robinson has straight balled out this year, registering as the 11th most efficient receiver in the league among receivers with at least 40 targets, with a 0.79 Reception NEP per target. His number-two receiver, Allen Hurns, has been even more impressive on a per-target basis, garnering a 1.01 Reception NEP per target, good for second in the league among receivers.

The Jaguars get the Ravens' leaky secondary in Week 10, followed by only two top-10 pass defenses on their remaining schedule, both against the division-rival Titans who just got torched for 28 points by the Saints in Week 9. As such, Bortles can be looked at as a good streaming or rest-of-season option depending on your preference.
