Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has quietly turned into one of the most consistent quarterbacks in the NFL. I know, we told you it's been a wild season at the quarterback position this year.

Prior to Sunday's contest with the St. Louis Rams, Cutler was averaging 0.18 Passing NEP per drop back to rank as the 12th most efficient quarterback in the league with at least 100 pass attempts. Just once in the past five weeks had Cutler thrown for fewer than 250 yards, and he had thrown for multiple touchdowns in three of those past five weeks.

This streak continued on Sunday as he threw for 258 yards and 3 touchdowns against the vaunted Rams' pass defense (they were second in our metrics). Perhaps most impressively, despite the stout competition across the field from him on Sunday, his 0.52 Passing NEP per drop back on the day nearly tripled his season averages.

With Cutler hitting his groove this season and with perhaps one of the best wide receivers in the game lining up on the outside for him in Alshon Jeffery, Cutler is a must add for anyone in need at the quarterback position this week.
