Tight End: Jordan Reed

Jordan Reed, TE, Washington Redskins
9 Receptions, 120 Yards, 9 Targets, 1 Touchdown
NEP: +12.05

In a down week of tight end performances, Jordan Reed stood out head and shoulders above the rest of his competition.

Reed caught all 9 targets that Kirk Cousins threw his way, finishing the day with 9 receptions for 120 yards and a touchdown. He now leads all Washington receivers in receptions, targets, receiving yards, and touchdowns.

Tied for the league lead in red zone touchdowns with Gary Barnidge (7), Reed has become Cousins' go-to weapon. He leads the team with 28.1% of the team's red zone targets despite missing two games. He added to that total this week with a nice play on 3rd-and-goal from the five-yard line, splitting two defenders on a crossing route and beating the coverage for the score.

Reed's +12.05 NEP led the position this week, as 6 of his 9 receptions either contributed towards a first down or a touchdown, big plays to boost NEP. He now has the seventh-best Reception NEP and the sixth-best Reception NEP per target. His 27 PPR fantasy points led the position for the week.

Also at tight end, Chicago's Zach Miller stepped up following Martellus Bennett's Injured Reserve designation. He finished the day hauling in 5 of 6 for 85 yards and a score, making a name for himself as the "other" Zach Miller. Gary Barnidge continues to make plays, finishing with a +8.36 NEP this week while leading all tight ends in Reception NEP. In a hapless San Diego offense, Antonio Gates showed up, catching 6 passes for 76 yards. Rob Gronkowski returned from injury this week to catch all 4 of his targets for 87 yards and 1 touchdown, while Zach Ertz fell just shy of the century mark, picking up 98 receiving yards on just 5 catches.
