3. New England Patriots

Adjusted NEP/P: 0.145 (3rd)
Adjusted Passing NEP/P: 0.243 (5th)
Adjusted Rushing NEP/P: 0.019 (10th)

The Patriots started off the season looking like they would field the same offensive juggernaut that finished the 2007 regular season undefeated. Over their 10-game winning streak to start the 2015 season, the Patriots outscored opponents 303-to-169 and included blowout wins over Jacksonville, Dallas, Miami, and Washington.

But not even Tom Brady could resist the slow down brought on by a slew of injuries to the team, losing tailback Dion Lewis for the season, and pass-catching weapons Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, and Danny Amendola for multiple weeks as well.

Despite all of this, however, the Patriots still managed to field the third best offense in the league according to our advanced NEP metrics, thanks in large part to Brady's efficiency in the passing game. Not only did the Patriots finish as the fifth most efficient passing offense in the league this year, but Brady's 0.251 Passing NEP per drop back ranked him as the fourth most efficient signal-caller with at least 200 pass attempts this season.

And considering that at times late this season the Patriots top option at wideout was former-Texan Keshawn Martin, that's not too shabby if you ask me.
