1. The Panthers Are the nERDier Team

The Panthers dominance so far this season is best demonstrated by the fact that they currently lead the league with a nERD of 11.36.

For those unfamiliar, our nERD metric determines the number of points we would expect a team to win by against an average opponent on a neutral field.

So, in other words, we would expect the Panthers to beat an ordinary team by 11.36 points.

Perhaps what's even more impressive than this feat is that the next two teams on the list -- the Cardinals (10.95) and Seahawks (9.39) -- were actually eliminated from this year's playoffs by the Panthers by a combined score of 80-39.

And with the Broncos sitting ninth in the league with an nERD of 4.31, its clear that Denver has an uphill battle to climb if they hope to top the 17-1 Panthers in Super Bowl 50.
