The Cleveland Browns have made a complete mess of free agency, allowing their Pro Bowl offensive line to dismantle itself without so much as a shrug. Center Alex Mack was part of that exodus, and he left to join the Atlanta Falcons.

The 2015 per-attempt rushing yardage actually favors Mack and Cleveland (Atlanta 3.8, Cleveland 4.0), but the directional Rushing NEP per play tells a very different story. The per-play average of Browns’ rushes up the middle was -0.01 Rushing NEP per play, while all other rushes averaged -0.08. While the Falcons had a better team Rushing NEP per play in 2015, Mack’s presence should benefit both Devonta Freeman and Matt Ryan.
