2.04: Leonte Carroo, WR, Miami Dolphins

Drafter Comments

"I'm a believer in draft talent and letting the rest take care of itself. While the Dolphins' wide receiver depth chart appears crowded, Miami loved Leonte Carroo enough to trade up for him despite drafting DeVante Parker and Jarvis Landry the last two seasons. Carroo is a more well-rounded receiver than Kenny Stills, so his physicality and technical route-running should win him the WR3 job immediately. I'm still not convinced Parker is capable of being an NFL WR1, so if Carroo is as talented as I believe, he'll be the top receiving option in Miami within a year or two." -- Brian Jester

Other Comments

"I completely agree with what Brian said. Prior to the draft, Carroo was a shoo-in as a first-round pick. Ostensibly, the landing spot isn't ideal, but his talent is the same now as it was a month ago. Miami gave up three picks to get him, so they (should) have a plan for his game." -- Austan Kas

"The most important thing to remember with Carroo is that he's the only wide receiver drafted during the Adam Gase regime. That matters a lot to me, especially when we consider his dominant market share numbers at Rutgers. I'm glad there's some unity here on what Carroo could be within a couple of years, and I absolutely think he is going to shine." -- Anthony Amico
