Week 15 Roundtable: the numberFire Experts' NFL Predictions

Each week, the great minds behind numberFire will give you some answers to the big questions of the weekend. This week, we have lots of love for the ATL crew, both Miami and Detroit as survivor picks, and Jake Locker as an ultimate fantasy sleeper?.

Game of the Week Pick: Giants at Falcons. Eli and the boys or Matty Ice and Co.?

Keith Goldner, Chief Analyst: Toughy for sure. I'm taking the Falcons at home in a high-scoring affair. Roddy, Tony, and Julio should give the Giants secondary fits.

Nik Bonaddio, CEO: If this was in the Meadowlands, I'd take Eli but I'll go with Matty Ice to bounce back from their horrific Week 14.

Michael Worthington, CTO: Atlanta already clinched the division, what do they have to worry about another loss. Giants, on the other hand, have the rest of the NFC East on their heels (well, maybe not Philly). Gmen.

Sean Weinstock, COO: Taking the risky pick on the Falcons. We'll see if they're the real deal.

Zach Warren, Editor: Atlanta hasn't looked particularly strong recently, losing twice in five games and only beating Arizona by four. Meanwhile, the Giants killed the Saints and Packers in two of the past three. Give me the Giants.

GotW Records: Sean: 7-5, Keith: 7-6, Nik: 6-7, Michael and Zach: 5-6.

Which game this week is your upset special?

Keith: I like a few of the closer games this week, going with Minnesota over St. Louis on the road. AP should go buck wild again.

Nik: Ravens are a home underdog against the Broncos; while they're headed in the wrong direction, this is a good spot for them to bounce back.

Michael: The Cowboys are going to take down Pitt to annoy Giants' fans and to give Jets' fans a glimmer of hope in that grandiose, longshot path they have for getting to the playoffs. That way, when the Jets eventually lose, they'll have no one else to blame other than linemen butts.

Sean: Have to go with my boys - SF over New England. Goldson to knock out 2 receivers by the 3rd quarter. Not that I'm rooting for that to happen, just saying there's a high likelihood. On the flip, I'm also looking to Tampa over New Orleans.

Zach: If I'm going to come back, I have to start taking some picks that nobody else has. So give me the Bears' defense (and I guess Jay Cutler if I have to) over the Packers.

Upset Special Records: Keith: 6-7, Michael and Zach: 4-7, Sean: 4-8, Nik: 4-9

Who's more likely to pick up a four-game winning streak: St. Louis (vs. MIN) or Cleveland (vs. WSH)?

Keith: St. Louis is more likely (and they are favored), but see my previous answer for why I think Minnesota will take them down on the road.

Nik: STL, baby. Nelly and the Lunatics allllll day.

Michael: If AP says he wants to win, then Minnesota will win. And with the prospect of RGIII being sidelined, Cleveland stands a better shot than the Rams.

Sean: St. Louis. They're actually a much tougher team than people thought. I think Jeff Fisher is getting his groove back like Stella, and the Rams are going to be tough as nails next year.

Zach: When in doubt, take the best unit on the field. For any of these four teams, that's surprisingly the Cleveland defense. They can hold RGIII even if he plays a full game.

Who are you picking for a survivor pool this week?

Keith: I highly doubt I've used Miami yet, so I'm going with them to win big against a brutal Jacksonville squad.

Nik: There's no super obvious winner - I think the Colts will give the Texans a game - so I'll go with the Lions over the Cards on the road.

Michael: Seattle.

Sean: Houston. Love Indy, but this isn't their week.

Zach: I'll take Detroit over Arizona. The Cardinals have looked that bad.

Survivor Records: Michael and Zach: 8-3, Keith and Nik: 9-4, Sean: 8-4.

Who will be the best currently under-the-radar fantasy player this week?

Keith: Russell Wilson. Only being started in 6.1% of leagues and he should go off against the Bills. Seattle is the second-most efficient passing team on a per play basis this year. That's right, No. 2 in the NFL!

Nik: I think Jake Locker has serious potential to go big against the Jets.

Michael: Joique Bell if David Wilson is already taken.

Sean: LaMichael James. No Kendall Hunter, he did some cool things as the #2 back for the Niners last week. I'd expect to see something interesting from him.

Zach: I talked myself into Dexter McCluster when doing my waiver article, and I'm sticking with him. Big day at KC's number one receiver with Bowe out against the Oakland secondary.

Week 14's top under-the-radar pick: How about Wilmington, Delaware, native Montell Owens! Nik gets it this week for picking him.
