Browns' Deshaun Watson finding 'little noticeable success' in OTAs
Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson was finding "little noticeable success on anything down the field" in early OTAs, reports The Athletic's Zac Jackson.
Jackson noted that the Browns' coaches praised Watson's efforts in learning they playbook and acting as a leader among his teammates, but the Browns would certainly like to see Watson thrive as a passer after his disappointing first partial season with the team. He'll have the rest of the offseason to knock off the rust and get on the same page as his receivers.
Watson looked like a player who had been out of the game for multiple seasons when he took the field for the Browns last year, completing 58.2% of his passes for 7 touchdowns and 5 interceptions across 6 games. Fortunately for him, he should have a talented group of pass-catchers to lean on in 2023, including David Njoku, Amari Cooper, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Elijah Moore, and 2023 third-round pick Cedric Tillman.
