Daniel Jones (neck) practicing in full for Giants
New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones (neck) is practicing in full for Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, per head coach Brian Daboll.
Jones is practicing without any limitations for the first time since injuring his neck in Week 5. He's expected to start on Sunday against the Raiders. Tommy DeVito will likely be the backup because Tyrod Taylor is week-to-week with a rib cage injury. Jones' return could actually be a slight downgrade for the offense, based on how he played from Weeks 1-5 before the injury.
Jones is the QB15 in numberFire's Week 9 rankings and our models project him for 15.3 FanDuel points, 187.3 passing yards, 0.80 touchdowns, 0.6 interceptions, and 35.9 rushing yards. The Raiders are allowing the ninth-fewest FanDuel points per game to opposing quarterbacks this season, buth their pass defense only ranks 20th in our opponent-adjusted NEP model. Jones is averaging negative-0.27 Passing Net Expected Points per attempt this season, ranked last among all quarterbacks with 100-plus attempts. For reference, Taylor is averaging 0.05 Passing NEP per attempt.
