Nolan Carroll, Cornerback

Sometimes the most interesting IDP streamers come as a result of a tough situation. Eagles top cornerback Leodis McKelvin has been dealing with another injury, leaving this cornerback group pretty understaffed. This will press Nolan Carroll into duty again as the top boundary defender for Philadelphia in Week 3, one week after he took top billing against the Chicago Bears. In Week 2, Carroll posted three total tackles while covering Alshon Jeffery and company, but he could be in for a bucketload more this week.

Ostensibly, Carroll will draw coverage duties against Pittsburgh Steelers’ top wide receiver (and hopeful reception record-breaker) Antonio Brown, who has seen an average of 11 targets per game through two weeks. Cincinnati Bengals cornerbacks Dre Kirkpatrick and Adam Jones combined for six total tackles and two interceptions in Week 2; more of the same could come for Nolan Carroll against this high-flying Steelers’ offense.

Carroll is available in 95.1% of ESPN IDP leagues, and we project him for 5.21 tackles, 0.20 interceptions, 0.40 passes defended, and a total score of 7.05 fantasy points in Week 3.
