Michael Johnson, Defensive End

The Cincinnati Bengals defense has been a shell of its recent self in 2016, despite the return of former face of the defensive franchise Michael Johnson. The veteran defensive end had left in free agency, gotten injured and busted in Tampa Bay, but now is back and -- theoretically -- is a bookend for teammate Carlos Dunlap.

Johnson has only earned 1.5 sacks this year, but his quarterback hit rate is about average (55th out of 118) and he has 4.0 stuffs over nine games played. He’s been a low-ceiling IDP option this year but could have a solid Week 11 in store.

Against the Buffalo Bills in Week 11, Johnson edge-setting production should be on full display. The Bills have the fourth-most run-heavy play call ratio in the league -- which will allow plenty of tackle chances for Johnson -- and they are allowing the third-highest sack rate in the league, giving Johnson some compelling upside to boot. There are worse streaming options this week than a former stud pass-rusher in a good matchup for his skillset.

Johnson is available in 95.6% of ESPN IDP leagues, and we project him for 2.46 tackles, 0.23 sacks, and a total score of 3.35 fantasy points in Week 11.
