Oakland Raiders

Top Needs: TE, DE, ILB, CB

The Oakland Raiders offense is surprisingly potent these days, after it looked like their quarterback situation would take longer to figure out. They do have some issues with depth of receiving targets, though. Oakland tight ends had the 11th-fewest Reception NEP per target, and the wide receivers were just 19th-best in the same metric.

The Raiders’ defense needs to keep up with their compatriots, as they posted the 12th-worst Adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP per play. Ben Heeney, Cory James, and Perry Riley all split time in the middle, but only Riley was a useful player there this year.

They also had plenty of issues in the passing game, with the eighth-lowest Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP per play. Consistency was an issue from the cornerbacks in general -- especially slot cornerback D.J. Hayden -- and starting 3-4 defensive ends Jihad Ward and Denico Autry were bad this year. More upfront push will take pressure off the secondary.
