Houston Texans

Top Needs: QB, IOL, OT, DT

The Houston Texans might have been in the conversation about the best teams in professional football over the last few years if they were ever able to lock down a quarterback who is even average. Brock Osweiler and Tom Savage will combine for the 11th-most cap spent on quarterbacks in the NFL this year but produced the 3rd-least Passing NEP per drop back in 2016.

To make matters worse, the offensive line is still all over the place, too. The Texans’ line ranked 8th-worst in Rushing Success Rate, to go with a middling Sack NEP (16th). Only left tackle Duane Brown and center Greg Mancz are irreplaceable.

On the other side of the ball, the Texans are dominant. They were sixth and seventh in Adjusted Defensive Passing and Rushing NEP per play, respectively, but will likely lose nose tackle Vince Wilfork to retirement and have holes named Joel Heath and Antonio Smith elsewhere on the line.
