Most of the first-round picks this year were spot on; in a year with a ton of depth, everyone was able to get a great player to fill a need. The Denver Broncos were no different, with tackle Garrett Bolles their Day 1 player. Bolles is old for a rookie, but he comes in a lot more ready than other linemen this year and has just as high a ceiling. Tight End Jake Butt was a classic injured value swipe by the Broncos, and he should see snaps aplenty in 2018. Wide receiver Carlos Henderson could be Emmanuel Sanders at his peak in the future. DeMarcus Walker solves the question of who to bookend Derek Wolfe at the defensive end spot, and his power is a legitimate force to contend with in this front.

De’Angelo Henderson is a fine player at a fine price here, but running back wasn’t a need for the Broncos; their rushing totals were so bad because starter C.J. Anderson was injured, the line wasn't great and the quarterback play took no pressure off of them. A fifth-round returner-only pick doesn’t intrigue me, but that’s what Isaiah McKenzie is. Quarterback Chad Kelly has a slew of issues on and off the field, but if he keeps from getting suspended and keeps his progress going, he could be a steal as Mr. Irrelevant.
