Detroit Lions

Needs Entering Draft: IOL, DE, DT, ILB
Positions Drafted: QB, WR, TE, DE, ILB, OLB, CB

Jarrad Davis and Jalen Reeves-Maybin are the kinds of linebackers one wants to remake a Detroit Lions front-seven around. After cutting veteran DeAndre Levy this offseason, Davis and Reeves-Maybin will enter this rotation and eventually start at middle and weak-side linebacker; both are extremely fast, aware, and hard-hitting. Cornerbacks Teez Tabor and Jamal Agnew enter an already decent situation, but they add to a back-end that needed help last year. Kenny Golladay has physical tools in droves, so he could be a nice grab at pick 96 to add depth to this wide receiving group.

Defensive linemen Jeremiah Ledbetter and Pat O’Connor address a need, but both came outside the top-200 picks of the Draft and cannot be expected for anything besides camp bodies. The Lions needed to do more to fix the defensive line here. Tight end Michael Roberts is a nice complement to Eric Ebron, but a fourth-round pick could have been used on a terrible defense instead. Quarterback Brad Kaaya is simply an upgrade on an already fine backup, but he's someone advanced metrics like.
