Green Bay Packers

Needs Entering Draft: TE, IOL, OLB, CB
Positions Drafted: RB, WR, IOL, DT, OLB, CB, S

The Green Bay Packers needed about 11 defensive backs entering this draft, and -- while they spent their highest two picks on them -- they did not get nearly enough bodies to upgrade. Still, Kevin King slots in as the team’s de facto top cornerback, and Josh Jones could either be an additional deep free safety or revive the Micah Hyde role as a slot corner/big nickel. Center Kofi Amichia filled a need on the interior offensive line, but the loss of two Pro Bowl guards over the past two offseasons means more than a late sixth-round pick should have been spent here.

The steal of the Packers’ draft was pass-rusher Vince Biegel in the fourth round. Defensive lineman Montravius Adams is a fine addition to the defensive line rotation, and the trifecta of running backs -- Jamaal Williams, Aaron Jones, and Devante Mays -- give Green Bay a few good shots at nailing down a true lead back. DeAngelo Yancey and Malachi Dupre are interesting value picks, but they won’t see game action early on in their careers.
