Which Wide Receiver Prospects Dominated the Most Games in 2017?

4. Devonte Boyd, UNLV Rebels

Devonte Boyd recorded at least 40% of UNLV's receiving yards in 5 of his 11 games (45.5%) this season and at least half in 3 games (27.3%).

UNLV did rank just 90th in passing offense by S&P+ this past season and 22nd in adjusted run rate, so the potential for huge games by raw yardage totals often eluded Boyd, who had just three 100-yard games all season. (UNLV topped 220 yards passing just twice in his 11 games.)

Still, by receiving market share, Boyd generated 54.5% of UNLV's receiving at Ohio State (12th in pass defense S&P+), though he had just 3 catches for 48 yards in that game. Boyd also produced at least 50% of UNLV's receiving against Idaho (63rd) and San Jose State (119th). He also dominated Howard (FCS) for a 47.7% market share and Fresno State (54th) for a 40.0% market share.

Problematically, Boyd's target rate dropped from 30.3% as a sophomore and 31.0% as a junior to 24.5% as a senior. His success rate was also a three-year low (45.7% as a sophomore, 50.0% as a junior, and 42.9% as a senior). But again, the Rebels' offense wasn't ripe for huge receiving production this season.
