Cam Phillips also dominated 5 of 12 games (41.7%), same as Carrington, but Phillips went over the 50% mark in three games, compared to one for Carrington.

Two of his five games dominated, though, were against weak opponents way back in September. Against Delaware, an FCS opponent, Phillips accounted for 90 of Virginia Tech's 222 passing yards (40.5%). He also hung a 14-catch, 189-yard, 3-touchdown stat line against East Carolina (130th in pass defense S&P+).

On a much brighter note, all three of his games with at least 50% of Virginia Tech's receiving yards came against opponents inside the top 40 in pass defense S&P+.

Phillips racked up 138 yards and a touchdown on 7 catches against West Virginia (33rd in pass defense) in early September, accounting for 58.7% of the Hokies' production. At home against Pitt in mid November, the 6'0, 202-pound Phillips went for 117 yards and a score on 8 catches (53.7% of Virginia Tech's passing).

And against the Miami Hurricanes on the road on November 4th, Phillips produced 101 yards on his 7 catches (51.3%).
