DeSean Jackson, Wide Receiver

2017 ADP: 88th Overall
2018 ADP: 141st Overall
Difference: -53

Fantasy football is a young person’s game, and I specifically mean that about the players. As soon as a player hits 30, usually their fantasy stock all of a sudden dips. Assume that player had a career-low in yards per reception the previous season, and it becomes that much more drastic.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver DeSean Jackson has always been known for his speed, but last year he nearly scraped the bottom of the inefficiency barrel. His Reception NEP per target has slipped every year over the last three, from 0.84 in 2015, to 0.76 in 2016, and to 0.62 in 2017.

That said, he still produced 138.6 PPR fantasy points -- 44th among wide receivers in 2017 -- in his worst season to date. Even operating under the popular assumption that Chris Godwin takes the second-receiver role this year and bumps D-Jax to third (which has averaged around 65 targets over the last three years) in Tampa's pecking order, 100.1 fantasy points is enough to keep him within the top 70 receivers.
