Fantasy Football: Which Players Are Being Drafted at a Discount in 2018?

Martavis Bryant, Wide Receiver

2017 ADP: 45th Overall
2018 ADP: 100th Overall
Difference: -55

Similar to Matthews’ situation, familiar faces in new places are uncertainties for fantasy drafters. We get skittish when a player is traded to a new team, because their role isn't guaranteed. New Oakland Raiders receiver Martavis Bryant is suffering those effects after being dealt by the Pittsburgh Steelers during the draft this year.

The good news? Oakland doesn’t have a 175-target receiver like Antonio Brown to soak up most of the work, so Bryant has more theoretical access to looks in The Black Hole. The bad news? Quarterback Derek Carr (0.12 Passing NEP per drop back over last three years) is a significant downgrade from Ben Roethlisberger (0.24 average).

Bryant will probably assume the Raiders’ third receiver role, which has averaged 65.7 targets over the past three years. Maybe he still needs a bigger discount, but if he tumbles in your draft, his penchant for big plays means he’s worth a look in spite of the unknowns.
