Los Angeles Chargers - Travis Benjamin

Cap Savings: $5.25 million

Dead Money: $1.25 million

Travis Benjamin, while never the main guy for the Los Angeles Chargers, was a useful contributor in his first two seasons with the team. He had 81 receptions for 1,244 yards and 8 touchdowns across 2016 and 2017, racking up 15.3 yards per reception as a big-play threat.

However, his role shrunk dramatically in 2018, thanks in no small part to the second-year improvement of Mike Williams. Benjamin had just 24 receptions for 186 yards a single score this season. He wasn’t even used much as a returner, fielding a mere 5 punts for just 16 yards.

Benjamin carries a $6.5 million cap charge in 2019, which seems far too high for a player who was ninth on the team in receptions and doesn’t contribute much on special teams.
