Fantasy Football: One Potential Cut Candidate for Every NFC Team

Dead Money: $3.5 million

Jermaine Gresham played in 13 games for the Arizona Cardinals in 2018, the third time in four seasons with the team that he was unable to suit up for a full 16 games. From a production standpoint, it was comfortably the worst season of his career.

Gresham was targeted just 12 times all season, which resulted in him catching 9 passes for 94 scoreless yards. The Cardinals' offense was the worst in the NFL, per our metrics, so it’s not all Gresham’s fault. But Gresham has failed to be a big-play guy since landing in the desert. He hasn’t had a pass reception go for more than 34 yards since 2012.

Cutting Gresham would lead to a $3.5 million in dead money, which would be fair from ideal as the team looks to give new coach Kliff Kingsbury and Josh Rosen offensive reinforcements. Making Gresham a post-June 1st cut, however, would reduce the dead money to $1.75 million while netting a savings of $6.5 million.
