Just behind Randall Cobb, Jordy Nelson ranks as our ninth wide receiver for the 2014 season. Nelson finished last year ranked ninth in Reception NEP among wide receivers, with a total of 117.07. Yet, Nelson, like Cobb, was hampered by injury last year, except it wasn’t his own. No, Jordy was deeply affected by the injury to Green Bay Packers quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. In the eight full games Rodgers played, Nelson averaged 9 targets, 6 receptions, 101 yards and 0.875 touchdowns per game. This would roughly translate to 21 points per game in a PPR format. In the eight games Rodgers sat on the pine, Nelson averaged 7 targets, 4.5 receptions, 63 yards and 0.125 touchdowns per game, or about 11 fantasy points.
Rodgers is back healthy for the 2014 season, and all signs are pointing up for a duo with some of the best chemistry in the league. He has an opportunity to be one of the highest-scoring receivers this season.
