Ty Montgomery, Green Bay Packers

ESPN Ownership: 9.6%
ADP: 174 (14.01)

Following wideout Jordy Nelson's season-ending injury, Ty Montgomery currently finds himself as the third wideout on the depth chart, ahead of second-year man Jeff Janis.

And so far this preseason, Montgomery has done a fine job solidifying his role on the roster, collecting two catches for 71 yards on three targets in the Packers first full preseason game without Nelson.

Montgomery could have a decent year playing this role for the Packers, with the potential to put up numbers comparable to Davante Adams in his rookie season as the team's number three receiver.

But the reason Montgomery warrants watching isn't because of his current projected workload. It's because should anything happen to Randall Cobb or Adams he's next in line to inherit the 100-plus targets the number two wideout has received on this team over the past four seasons.

And with Cobb anything but a sure bet to stay healthy the entire year -- Cobb sustained a fractured fibula that cost him 10 games in 2013 and recently exited the Packers third preseason game with a shoulder injury -- fantasy football managers should have Ty Montgomery's player page on bookmarked if anything ever happens to land him as a top two wideout on this historically productive passing offense.
