Leonard Hankerson, WR, Atlanta Falcons

There were hints this offseason that there might be a new number-two wideout in town for the Atlanta Falcons.

Through the first three weeks of the preseason, Leonard Hankerson collected an impressive 98 yards and a touchdown on 7 receptions. And this past Sunday against the New York Giants, Hankerson kept this momentum going into the regular season by converting 6 of his 11 targets into 77 yards and a receiving touchdown.

Hankerson's 11 targets not only dwarfed Roddy White's lone look in the passing game, but also they were second only to Julio Jones and his 15 targets.

However, Hankerson's ability to sustain this workload for the entire season is far from guaranteed. As our own Joe Redemann has said, Hankerson's track record is quite lacking, with just 127 total targets coming his way prior to the start of the 2015 season. But what he lacks in experience, he makes up for in size and speed. Standing at 6’1”, 211 pounds and with 4.43-second 40-yard dash speed, Hankerson makes for an ideal number-two receiver in new offensive coordinator Kyle Shannahan's offense.

And as a member of a pass-heavy team that has ranked in the top 12 in pass attempts in every season since 2009 -- including being third last year with 663 attempts -- and has had Matt Ryan throw 80 passes over the first two games of the season so far, if Hankerson can maintain a prominent role in this passing offense he could become the high-end WR3/low-end WR2 that White was supposed to be this year.
