Dashon Goldson, Free Safety

And Dashon Goldson makes five repeats in this week. Why fix it if it ain’t broken, I always say. If your fantasy defensive backfield is broken in Week 7, though, Goldson is a great player to plug a hole for you. Goldson still has no interceptions in 2015, but he’s getting a great tackle volume for a free safety. Again, Washington uses the free and strong designations fairly interchangeably, but we can expect to see Goldson in the box a fair amount from week to week.

In this matchup, he gets the floundering Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ offense, led by Jameis Winston. The rookie from Florida State currently leads the NFL in interception percentage, with a whopping seven on just 152 attempts; 4.6%. If Goldson is dropped back into coverage at all, he’s going to feast on Winston’s mistakes. Add in the fact that the Buccaneers have attempted an average 35 rushes over the last few games, and Goldson has a great matchup lined up in Week 7.

Goldson is available in 92.5% of ESPN IDP leagues, and we projected him for around 6.0 tackles, an excellent chance for a pass defensed, and a total score of 7.96 balanced fantasy points in Week 7.
