Tight Ends

High-Cost Option: Greg Olsen $6,400

Carolina's Greg Olsen gets one of the premier tight end matchups of the week, facing New Orleans. In his previous matchup against the Saints, Olsen had 8 receptions for 134 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Saints allow the the most receptions, second-most receiving yards, and second-most touchdowns to tight ends, subsequently leading to them giving up the second-most fantasy points overall to the position. Olsen is a no-brainer tight end worth paying up for this week in a ridiculous matchup with nearly everything pointing towards a big outing from him.

Mid-Cost Option: Travis Kelce $4,700

Travis Kelce and the Chiefs travel to Oakland to face one of the worst teams at defending the tight end position. The Raiders have allowed opposing tight ends to score the most touchdowns on the season (11) and have given up the third-most fantasy points in the process. Kelce continues to see steady targets -- a nice change from 2014 -- and has caught five or more passes in five of his last six games. We haven't seen Kelce truly go off since Week 1, but in a closely projected game like this one, "Zeus" truthers may finally get what they've been waiting months to see.

Low-Cost Option: Scott Chandler $2,500

The matchup against the Eagles isn't terribly favorable -- in fact if it were Rob Gronkowski still playing I'd fade him and his high price tag this week -- but bargain bin tight ends suddenly thrust into starting roles are worth a flier if looking to punt at the position. Scott Chandler was already seeing high-quality targets in this offense as an ancillary piece but will now have his number called more frequently this week in a Patriots offense suddenly depleted of healthy offensive talent. The Eagles have allowed only three touchdowns to tight ends dating back to 2014, but Chandler can provide Brady both a chain mover and a guy capable of running seam routes. At $2,500, Chandler's only a handful of targets away from hitting value.

GPP Wildcard: Julius Thomas $4,000

It may feel like chasing points with Julius Thomas, but the top tight end from Week 12 makes for another great play this week against Tennessee. The Titans are tied for allowing the fourth-most touchdowns to tight ends this season and have given up the 10th-most fantasy points to the position. Thomas saw both a season-high in receptions and receiving yards last week and will look to build on that rapport with Blake Bortles given the questionable status surrounding Allen Hurns that forced him to leave last week's game on a stretcher. Finally healthy, Thomas has a chance produce down the final stretch of the season like the guy the Jaguars expected him to be when they signed him to a five-year, $46-million deal.
