In 2015, the Cincinnati Bengals fielded a top five offensive unit in a way few could have predicted.

Despite having last year's standout rookie tailback, Jeremy Hill, and elusive third down back, Giovani Bernard, in the backfield, the Bengals ranked just 19th in rushing in 2015 with an overall Rushing NEP per attempt of just -0.03 per carry.

Instead, Andy Dalton made the unlikely leap to elite quarterback, with a Passing NEP per drop back of 0.35 that ranked him as the most efficient quarterback in the league with at least 200 pass attempts. The emergence of Tyler Eifert in the passing game had a lot to do with Dalton's success, as Eifert not only hauled in career highs in receptions (52), yards (615), and touchdowns (13), but his 0.98 Reception NEP per target ranked him as the most efficient tight end with at least 50 targets this season by a significant margin.

And despite injuries that kept this duo off the field for the final few games of the season, the Bengals still managed to put up the seventh most points in the league with 419 on the season, capping off a strong regular season in which the team amassed an impressive 12-4 record to lead the AFC North.
