5. Kirk Cousins, Washington Redskins

I'd generally start a Kirk Cousins section off with some "You like that?!" commentary, but we all know that's played out.

Cousins ended the year with the same efficiency per drop back as the aforementioned Wilson, but the tiebreaker -- total Passing NEP -- went to Cousins. Essentially, Cousins threw more passes than Russell Wilson did, and that gave him the edge.

Only one quarterback was able to toss for more than Cousins' 41.88 Passing Net Expected Points in the fourth quarter this season (more on that guy later), while Cousins tied for the fewest sacks among the fourth quarter's top-10 signal-callers. Cousins tossed just seven fourth-quarter touchdowns -- a middle-of-the-road number among all NFL passers -- but he was careful with the ball, throwing just one pick.
